NFL Draft: Pair of area standouts to play in East-West Shrine Game

A pair of Miami Valley high school products will be looking to improve their pro football potential next week at the East-West Shrine game.

Notre Dame receiver Chris Finke is on the East roster while Georgia tight end Eli Wolf is a member of the West squad.

Finke, an Alter grad, caught 41 passes for 456 yards and four touchdowns last season. He was also the team’s primary punt returner, averaging 9.0 per return.

The 5-foot-9 1/2, 184-pounder was a significant contributor for two seasons in South Bend, where he had 49 catches for 571 yards and two touchdowns as a junior in 2018 and played in the College Football Playoff.

Wolfe, a 6-foot-4, 236-pounder from Minster, caught 13 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns last season at Athens, where he was named co-winner of the newcomer of the year award on offense after transferring from Tennessee, where he played 28 games.

Four Ohio State seniors — receiver Binjimen Victor, linebacker Malik Harrison, safety Jordan Fuller and offensive lineman Branden Bowen — are also on the West team.

Harrison is also among the invitees to the Senior Bowl, which is schedule for the following week in Mobile, Ala.

The 95th East-West Shrine Game is scheduled for St. Petersburg, Fla., on Jan. 18.
