A 6-foot-1, 185-pound running back, offensively Hines was shifted to receiver and accounted for 204 yards. He had eight catches for 172 yards and a touchdown and carried three times for another 32 yards rushing.
Defensively, he had two tackles, caused a fumble and also had one pass break-up. He also returned kickoffs and punts.
Hines was interfered with in the final seconds. The North responded by blocking a 35-yard South field goal attempt as time expired to secure the win.

The South won the combined Divisions I-III game, 35-33.
Hines had 800 yards rushing (in eight games) and six touchdowns, and six catches for 87 yards as a senior for the Polar Bears (5-5). He was second team All-Ohio Division IV.

Also an outstanding basketball player, as a senior he was second in Southwestern Buckeye League scoring (21.5) and the SWBL Buckeye Division player of the year. Northridge (19-8) won a D-II district title and was beaten by eventual state champ Trotwood-Madison in a regional final.
Northridge football coach Bob Smith said Hines will walk on to play football at Bowling Green State University.
