Toppin, who averaged 20.0 points and 7.5 rebounds as a redshirt sophomore, joins Kansas senior Udoka Azubuike, Seton Hall senior Myles Powell, Oregon senior Payton Pritchard and Iowa junior Luka Garza on the list of finalists.

“Each of these finalists enjoyed an incredible season, and all of them deserve to win the Citizen Naismith Trophy,” said Eric Oberman, executive director of the Atlanta Tipoff Club, in a press release. “Their talent and skill on the court make them worthy of Player of the Year, and although we won’t see them in postseason play, we believe it is important to still honor their accomplishments.”
