Toppin, a redshirt sophomore forward, is the first Dayton player since Jordan Sibert to score 1,000 points in two seasons. Sibert ranks 45th with 1,030 points.
Toppin is the eighth fastest player to 1,000 points in UD history, reaching the milestone in his 60th game. Hank Finkel reached 1,000 in 41 games and was followed by Donald Smith (46), Don May (49), Bill Uhl Sr. (53), Johnny Davis (56), Dave Colbert (57) and Don Meineke (57).

Earlier this season, Toppin's teammate Jalen Crutcher surpassed 1,000 points in a road game at Duquesne.
Roosevelt Chapman, who played for Dayton from 1980-84, remains the program’s all-time leading scorer with 2,233 points. He’s also the only player in school history with more than 2,000 points.
