"Shoot, I love football. I miss it dearly," Mangold said (via the New York Daily News). "So I'm planning on playing."
A day-one starter for the Jets since he was a first-round pick in 2006, Mangold had played at least 14 games every season until this year, when a knee injury slowed him early and lower leg issues caused him to go on injured reserve Dec. 8.
He’s due to make $6.1 million next season, but the team could release him to save money.
“I want to keep playing football, and I want to do it here,” he said. “When that time comes, we’ll talk about it.”
