According to 247Sports, Zak is a 6-foot-2, 217-pound tight end prospect from Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Ten.
His older brothers, twins Jake and Tye, are in their second season as walk-ons at Clemson. (They were not offered the opportunity by then-Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, who later expressed regret about that decision to the elder Herbstreit according to TheState.com.)
Kirk Herbstreit starred at Centerville High School in the 1980s and was the first Ohio State recruit for coach John Cooper.

He was a Buckeyes captain in 1992 and later became more well-known as a college football analyst for ESPN, where he is part of the College GameDay cast and part of the network’s top announcing crew.
His late father, Jim, also played for the Buckeyes and served as captain of the 1960 squad for coach Woody Hayes.
