Ohio State football has lost a second 2020 captain to the 2021 NFL Draft.

Shaun Wade announced Monday morning he will forgo the rest of his college eligibility.

All-American offensive lineman Wyatt Davis declared for the draft last week.

Both players had the option to enter the 2020 draft but chose to return to Ohio State in hopes of getting the Buckeyes back to the College Football Playoff, where they lost in the semifinals last season.

At the same time, multiple reports indicate Big Ten chancellors and presidents could approve a return to play as soon as October, though at this time all fall sports in the conference are “postponed” indefinitely.

That decision touched off protests by parents from several Big Ten schools, including Ohio State.

Wade’s father, Randy, was among the leaders of the movement, including organizing a demonstration at Big Ten headquarters outside Chicago.
