Williams, named the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association Southwest District Division II offensive player of the year this week, is ranked the nation’s No. 27 running back in the 2020 class by 247 Sports. He is ranked Ohio’s No. 12 high school football player overall in the 2020 class by 247 Sports.

Williams is the sixth Cincinnati-area player to report a verbal commitment to the Buckeyes in the 2020 class. He joins Elder offensive tackle Jakob James, Elder tight end Joe Royer, La Salle kicker Jake Seibert, Princeton defensive end Darrion Henry and Princeton offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr.
Ohio State offered Williams a scholarship on Sept. 21.
Williams rushed for 992 yards and 10 touchdowns this season for the Warriors (6-3). Williams, the 2018 Ohio Mr. Football runner-up, rushed 33 times for 156 yards and three touchdowns in a 26-21 win at La Salle Oct. 25 in his final high school game.
Williams rushed for 5,823 yards and 68 touchdowns in his high school career, according to the Winton Woods athletic department. He is No. 31 on the Ohio High School Athletic Association all-time career rushing yards list.
The NCAA Divisions I and II early signing period starts Dec. 18.
