"Just four or five years ago (TCU) was in the talk for the College Football Playoff," Baldwin told the site. "They struggled last year, but they had a lot of injured guys. They can be a very winning program. The coaches were great. I knew Coach (Sonny) Cumbie a bit before I chose Ohio State. I like Coach (Gary Patterson) a lot. My teammates are good dudes with the same mindset as me: To play for each other and win games."
A native of Austin, Texas, Baldwin started for one season at storied Lake Travis High School before sitting out last season at Ohio State while recuperating from a knee injury.
He competed with Justin Fields during spring practice to replace departed starter Dwayne Haskins but later announced he was leaving Columbus amid reports he wanted to play closer to home.
TCU provides that, although actually getting on the field will be no easy task.
The Horned Frogs have four-star prospects Justin Rogers and Max Dugan, Kansas State transfer Alex Delton and Michael Collins, who started for part of the 2018 season.
