What’s going on with Ohio State football?

Not much information has flowed out of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center since preseason camp started without head coach Urban Meyer on August 3.

That changed Friday when the school published a lengthy update from interim head coach Ryan Day, who is filling in for Meyer while an independent board investigates how Meyer handled allegations assistant coach Zach Smith abused his wife during his tenure.

The Buckeyes have reached the midway point of the preseason and will wrap up camp with a scrimmage Saturday, two weeks before the season-opening game against visiting Oregon State.

The beginning of that practice will be open to the media.

Meyer remains on leave as an expected 14-day window for the investigation winds down.

OSU president Dr. Michael Drake indicated Thursday in an interview with WOSU the investigation will take as long as it needs to.
