Ohio State headed west to play in NCAA tournament

The Ohio State Buckeyes will travel 1,998 miles to play in the NCAA tournament.

Ohio State received a No. 5 seed and will play No. 12 seed South Dakota State in Boise, Idaho, in the first round Thursday. The winner will play No. 4 seed Gonzaga or No. 13 North Carolina-Greensboro in the second round Saturday.

The Buckeyes (24-8) will make their first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 2015. South Dakota State (28-6) won the Summit League championship and will play in the tournament for the third year in a row. It lost in the first round the last two seasons.
