Ohio State scores commitment from son of former Bengals star Chris Henry

Ohio State received a pleasant surprise on what could be a big recruiting weekend for the Buckeyes when Chris Henry Jr. verbally committed to the school.

Henry, who is about to enter his sophomore season at Cincinnati Withrow, made his decision on a visit to Columbus as the Buckeyes hosted a recruiting festival Friday night.

The son of the late former Bengals receiver Chris Henry is not ranked as a recruit yet, but at 6-foot-5 with impressive speed, quickness and athleticism, he is likely going to be a five-star when 2026 rankings start coming out.

His offer list includes Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, USC, West Virginia (his father’s alma mater) and more.

He is the first player to recruit to Ohio State for 2026, but Ohio State hopes he is not the last to commit this weekend.

Springfield cornerback Aaron Scott Jr., who is ranked the No. 1 or 2 senior-to-be in the state depending on the recruiting service, is set to announce his decision Sunday night in a ceremony with family and friends.

He is down to a final three of Ohio State, Michigan and Oregon.
