One Bengal, one Red make list of world’s top 100 paid athletes

Geno Atkins of the Cincinnati Bengals and Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds are among the top 100 paid athletes in the world, according to Forbes magazine's annual ranking.

Atkins, a defensive lineman, ranks 65th at $29.1 million, while Votto, a first baseman, is 95th at $25.4 million.

Seattle quarterback Russell Wison is the top NFL player on the list at $89.5 million (sixth). Anaheim’s Mike Trout is the top MLB player at $50.6 million (17th).

Soccer star Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona tops the list at $127 million.

LeBron James checks in at eighth ($89 million).

The ranking includes an athlete’s annual salary/winnings and endorsements.
