Joey Votto, who ranked 10th last week among first basemen, and Eugenio Suarez, who ranked eighth among third basemen, dropped out of the top 10.
Luis Castillo, who starts the series opener against the Houston Astros at 7:10 p.m. Monday at Great American Ball Park, remains the Reds’ best hope to make the National League All-Star team. He’s 6-1 and ranks second in the league with a 2.20 ERA and tied for seventh with 96 strikeouts.

The Reds have had multiple all-stars the last nine seasons and have had at least one position player named to the team in each of those nine seasons. In 2009, they had one all-star: closer Francisco Cordero.
The 90th Midsummer Classic takes place July 9 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
