A photograph of restaurant receipts at a Boston hotel signed by Ruth and other Hall of Famers such as Stan Musial, Tris Speaker, Bob Feller, Hank Greenberg and Lou Boudreau are part of an sale by Idaho auction house RMY Auctions, Sports Collectors Daily reported.

The auction, which ends Saturday, depicts the eating habits of baseball players decades ago in the 8-by-10-inch photograph. The Beef 'N' Bird Restaurant, located in the Hotel Kenmore in Boston, was located three blocks from Fenway Park, Sports Collectors Daily reported.
The meal tabs show the entrees ordered by baseball players and former stars during the 1940s and 1950s, according to RMY Auctions.
Ruth, for example, ordered filet mignon, shrimp, salad, rolls, peas and iced tea. His bill was a mere $5.31.
Long before collecting autographs became a craze, the enterprising manager of the Beef ’N’ Bird made sure the baseball stars signed their receipts, even if they were charging the meal to their hotel rooms. The photographs clearly show the autographs and room numbers, according to RMY Auctions.
Just imagine what the actual receipts would be worth.
