Reds announce signing of 21 draft picks

The Cincinnati Reds announced Tuesday they have signed 21 of their 41 draft picks.

Among the players who have signed are three of the team’s top-fourselections: second-round pick Lyon Richardson, a right-handed pitcher from Jensen Beach, Fla.; their third pick, from the competitive balance round, Josiah Gray, a right-handed pitcher from Le Moyne College; and their third-round pick, right-fielder Bren Spillane, the Big Ten Player of the Year from the the University of Illinois.

First-round pick Jonathan India, a third baseman for the Florida Gators, remains unsigned. Florida advanced to the College World Series with a 3-2 victory over Auburn on Monday, winning on a walk-off home run in the 11th inning.

The Reds also signed their ninth-round pick, right-handed pitcher Andrew McDonald, a Mason High School graduate, and their 24th-round pick, Connor Curlis, a left-handed pitcher from Ohio State and Findlay, Ohio.
