Reds focus on pitching on Day 2 of MLB Draft

The Cincinnati Reds did not pick a pitcher with their first three picks in the Major League Baseball draft on Sunday but picked five — all college pitchers — between rounds two and 10 on Monday.

Here’s a look at the nine players the Reds selected on the second day of the draft.

Round 2, pick 53: Andrew Abbott, left-handed pitcher, University of Virginia.

Round 3, pick 89: Jose Torres, shortstop, N.C. State University.

Round 4, pick 119: Ruben Ibarra, first base, San Jose State.

Round 5, pick 150: Thomas Farr, right-handed pitcher, University of South Carolina.

Round 6: pick 180: Justice Thompson, outfield, University of North Carolina.

Round 7, pick 210: Kevin Abel, right-handed pitcher, Oregon State University.

Round 8, pick 240: Hunter Parks, right-handed pitcher, Florence-Darlington Technical College (S.C.).

Round 9, pick 270: Jack Rogers, outfielder, Sam Houston State University.

Round 10, pick 300: Donovan Benoit, right-handed pitcher, Tulane University.

The final 10 rounds of the draft will take place Tuesday.
