The Reds were unable to conjure another win over the Mets on Wednesday, dropping the game 2-0. It was their 15th loss in the last 16 games against New York.

Some notes from the Reds world on Tuesday:

  • Tucker Barnhart has thrown out five of the last six baserunners attempting to steal
  • Tim Adleman has retired the first hitter in all seven relief appearances, and has stranded all five inherited baserunners
  • Former Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips notched his 2,000th hit with the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday
  • Homer Bailey at one point retired nine of 10 in route to a quality start. In the last six games, Reds starters have allowed 30 hits, 15 walks and 38 strikeouts in 36 2/3 innings
  • Cincinnati goes for the series win – and a winning August – on Thursday.
