Reds reliever Amir Garrett pitches against the Braves on April 26, 2018, at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

The Cincinnati Reds bounced back Tuesday from their first loss in a week and also got good news after the game from reliever Amir Garrett.

An infield single off the bat of the Atlanta Braves’ Ender Inciarte hit Garrett in the leg in the eight inning. He left the game. The Reds reported X-rays were negative.

After the Reds closed out a 5-3 victory on the road, Garrett addressed the injury on Twitter.

“Anyone know how to catch comebackers?” he wrote. “Asking for a friend. Lol.”

In a follow-up post, Garrett added, “And yes I am all good. Thanks for the love everyone. I love you all (for real). All the tweets don’t go unnoticed. I just can’t respond to everyone. I see them all. Thanks for the kind words.”

The Reds, who have won 11 of their last 14 games, can’t afford to lose Garrett if they want to keep building momentum. He has a 2.59 ERA and is tied with Wandy Peralta in the team lead for appearances (37).

The Reds bullpen ranks eight in the National League with a 3.98 ERA. Along with Garrett, Raisel Iglesias (2.14 ERA in 33 2/3 innings), Jared Hughes (1.30 ERA in 41 2/3) and David Hernandez (1.69 in 26 2/3) have put up the best numbers.
