Cincinnati Reds outfielder Aristides Aquino won the National League Player of the Week award on Monday.

Aquino hit .500 (11-for-22) with a .542 on-base percentage, six home runs, eight runs scored, 11 RBIs and a double last week.

Aquino hit three home runs Saturday in a 10-1 victory against the Chicago Cubs. He became the first player in Reds history to hit seven home runs in his first 10 games in the big leagues and the second Major League Baseball player in the live-ball era to hit seven home runs in his first 10 games.

Aquino homered in four straight appearances. That was one game shy of the Reds record for consecutive appearances with at least one home run.
