Gray allowed two earned runs on four hits in 6 2/3 innings as the Reds beat the Chicago Cubs 4-2 at Wrigley Field.

Ryan made 31 straight starts with six hits or fewer in the 1991 and 1992 seasons.

Gray improved to 11-7 with a 2.80 ERA in 30 starts in his first season with the Reds. His 32-start streak started last season when he was with the New York Yankees.

Gray ranks fifth in the National League in ERA and 11th in strikeouts (199).
