Bengals’ WR Ja’Marr Chase is dealing with a hip injury that is expected to sideline him 4-6 weeks and makes him a prime candidate for injured reserve, per sources. Chase visited with a hip specialist Wednesday and is seeking more answers about his injury.

Chase injured his hip in Week 6 against the Saints and aggravated it in the first half of a 35-17 win over the Falcons. He returned to start the second half and finished with 130 yards receiving and two touchdowns on eight catches.
Bengals coach Zac Taylor called Chase “day-to-day” with soreness when asked about Chase’s status during his press conference earlier Thursday. Cincinnati is preparing for the first “Battle of Ohio” meeting this season at Cleveland on Monday.
“I think just sore so we’ll see,” Taylor said. “We’ll take it day by day with all these guys that came out of the game.”
If the Bengals place Chase on injured reserve, he would miss the next four games -- Monday night’s game at Cleveland, Nov. 6 at home vs. Carolina, Nov. 20 at Pittsburgh and at Nov. 27 at Tennessee.
Schefter reported that Chase saw a hip specialist Wednesday and was seeking more answers.
Chase was one of five players that did not practice Thursday, joined by right tackle La’el Collins (ankle), defensive end Trey Hendrickson (neck), wide receiver Stanley Morgan (hamstring) and defensive tackle Josh Tupou (calf). Linebacker Logan Wilson and Jeff Gunter, who both missed last week’s game because of injuries, were full participants.
