Reports: Cavaliers find new head coach in the Big Ten

Michigan’s John Beilein is heading to the NBA, according to multiple reports.

Beilein, 66, agreed to a five-year contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, ending a 12-year run with Michigan in which he led the Wolverines to national championship game in 2013 and 2018, losing to Louisville and Villanova.

Beilein was 278-150 at Michigan. He has a career record of 571-325. He previously coached at Canisius (1992-97), Richmond (1997-92) and West Virginia (2002-07).

In Cleveland, Beilein takes over a team that finished 19-63 last season after four straight NBA Finals appearances.
