Report: Dayton contacts Colorado State transfer

Add another name to the list of recruits the Dayton Flyers have contacted this spring: Colorado State transfer Prentiss Nixon, a 6-foot-1 guard.

Dayton, Loyola Chicago, Creighton, Western Kentucky, Kansas State, Marquette, Toledo, Buffalo, Butler, and Northern Illinois have all reached out to Nixon, according to a report by Jake Weingarten, of StockRisers.com.

Nixon, of Bolingbrook, Ill., led Colorado State with 16.1 points per game as a junior last season. He averaged 3.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. He ranked seventh in the Mountain West Conference with 66 made 3-pointers. He scored 1,058 points in three seasons.

Nixon has one season of eligibility remaining and would likely have to sit out next season as a transfer, according to the Coloradoan. He announced Friday he was leaving Colorado State.

Dayton has five scholarships open for the 2018-19 season. The April recruiting period began last week.
