Kitchens, 44, became offensive coordinator for the Browns in October when offensive coordinator Todd Haley and head coach Hue Jackson were fired. Kitchens quickly built a rapport with rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield, who thrived under his new play-caller.
Mayfield passed for 3,725 yards, 27 touchdowns and 14 interceptions this season. Nineteen of those TDs came during the final eight games under Kitchens’ tutelage.
Kitchens joined the Browns staff last January as running backs coach after spending the previous 11 seasons on the Arizona Cardinals staff.
