Bergeron, 48, just completed his ninth season as the head coach at Bowling Green, leading the Falcons to a 25-11-5 mark and their first NCAA Tournament berth in 29 years. He was 171-154-44 overall at Bowling Green.
Bergeron was a two-year team captain for the RedHawks, leading them to the CCHA championship as as senior. He spent seven seasons playing minor league hockey before returning to Miami as an assistant under Blasi in 2000.

During his first stint with the the RedHawks, Bergeron was part of the coaching staff that helped Miami reach the NCAA Tournament six times, including back-to-back Frozen Four appearances in 2009-10.
