The Cincinnati Bengals are benching veteran quarterback Andy Dalton in favor of rookie Ryan Finley.

Finley, a fourth-round pick in this year’s draft, will take over the starting role after the team’s bye week.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network was the first to report the news.

Dalton, who turned 32 today, leads the NFL in completions (204) and attempts (338) this season. he’s passed for 2,252 yards, nine touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Finley’s first start would come at home vs. the Ravens on Sunday, Nov. 10. Finley, who has not appeared in a regular-season game, was impressive in the preseason, completing 73.4 percent (47-of-64) of his passes for three TDs and an interception.

The Bengals (0-8) have lost 10 straight games dating back to last season.
