Former Xavier basketball star Edmond Sumner received money from a prospective agent according to court documents obtained by Yahoo Sports.

Sumner, whose career concluded last spring, or his father received at least $7,000 while Sumner was a Musketeer, per records kept by Christian Dawkins now part of an FBI investigation.

Dawkins was seeking to recoup that money from former NBA agent Andy Miller, whose office was raided by the FBI last year.

Sumner and Samaj Christon, a Cincinnati native who played at Winton Woods and Brewster Academy in New Hampshire before suiting up for Xavier in 2013 and '14, were both represented by Miller's agency but dropped them after he became involved in the FBI's investigation.

According to Yahoo, Xavier coach Chris Mack was the only coach to respond to a request for comment:

"I have no relationship with Andy Miller or any of his associates. He plays no role in the recruitment of potential student athletes on Xavier's behalf. Beyond that, our staff has never created a path for him to foster a relationship with any of our student-athletes while enrolled at Xavier. Any suggestion that I or anyone on my staff utilized Andy Miller to provide even the slightest of financial benefits to a Xavier student-athlete is grossly misinformed. We are prepared to cooperate with any and all investigations at any level."

The bombshell report published Friday morning implicates players from numerous high-profile schools, including Kentucky, Duke and North Carolina.

Four assistant coaches have already been indicted as part of the investigation, including former Xavier assistant Emanuel “Book” Richardson.

He worked at XU from 2007-09 before following coach Sean Miller to Arizona.
