Ohio State football: Highly touted QB Fields joining Buckeyes

Georgia transfer was No. 2 prospect in 2018 recruiting class

Quarterback Justin Fields will transfer from Georgia to Ohio State, he announced on Twitter on Friday night.

Fields is expected to petition the NCAA to allow him to play in 2019 without sitting out a season.

Fields was the No. 2 prospect in the nation in the 2018 class. He appeared in 12 games for the Bulldogs as a true freshman, completing 27 of 39 passes for 328 yards and four touchdowns.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Fields is from Kennesaw, Ga. Ohio State was reported as a potential landing spot for Fields almost as soon as he announced his decision to leave Georgia.
