Ben Logan 11, Spg. Shawnee 1: Eight runs in the second inning led Ben Logan to victory over Shawnee. The offensive prowess came from singles by Nolan Roose, Cole Waugh, Curtis Gadson and Micah Anderson, who each created scoring opportunities. Waugh picked up the win on the mound, allowing only one hit while striking out 10.
Fenwick 15, Roger Bacon 8: Thomas Vogelsang’s four hits and three RBIs led Fenwick’s offense in the win. R.J. Clesceri knocked one out of the park, while Henry Nenni and Adam Brian each tacked on three additional RBIs.
Lebanon 8, Miamisburg 2: Lebanon pulled away with three runs in the second inning and held onto the lead from there. Cole Perduk, A.J Fritz and Drew Cooper all managed multiple hits for Lebanon in the win and Bo Wilson earned the win on the mound.
Northwestern 9, Tecumseh 0: Evan Crew led with four RBIs and two hits in the shutout victory, while Jansen Jenkins added on two RBIs and one hit. Gage Voorhees threw for a complete game, striking out eight to earn the win.
Ross 7, Little Miami 1: Ethan Hall ran for a double and tacked on an RBI as Ross bested Little Miami. Trevor House picked up his first win of the season with 10 strikeouts.
Springboro 6, Northmont 4: Tyler Kean paved the way for the ‘Boro win, striking out six from the mound, while collecting two hits, one double and one run from the plate. Calvin Walters chipped in two RBIs and one run off one hit. Garett McCough and Joe Pryor each had two hits and ran for a double in the Northmont loss.
St. Henry 6, Versailles 3: Daylon Lange’s ERA moved to 0.022 in the win, allowing only one earned run on the season with 32 innings pitched. Ryan Luttmer picked up three hits and ran for a double, while Jay Knapke tacked on three additional hits.
Softball
Arcanum 5, Covington 2: Macy Skelton threw for seven strikeouts in the Arcanum win. Sydney Artz and Gracie Garno each recorded two hits.
Chaminade Julienne 18, Purcell Marian 1: Natale Northern led the CJ offense with four hits in the win. Pitcher Carly Fugett struck out 12 batters in five innings.
Fort Loramie 14, Fairlawn 3: Clara Gephart scored her first career homerun, while Aleah Frilling and Alaina Pleiman tacked on two hits each as Loramie routed Fairlawn. Frilling also earned the win on the mound, pitching three perfect inning and striking out four batters.
Mechanicsburg 13, Southeastern 1: Mechanicsburg came out strong with a grandslam from Megan Alspaugh and a homerun from Hanna DeLong. Mallory Blakeman and Jessica Maddux each tacked on an RBI and a double.
Northmont 6, Springboro 5: Anna Mangen and D.J. Shepherd each knocked out homeruns as Northmont slipped past ‘Boro. Marissa Bardonaro tacked on a double in the win.
West Liberty-Salem 3, Triad 2: Two runs in the top of the seventh inning gave W-LS the victory, as Kenedie Cox led with two hits. Maddie Estes tacked on an RBI and ran for a double, while Kelsey Day recorded the win from the mound.
Boys Tennis
Dixie 4, Carlisle 1: Mason Swigart, Alex Perminov and Luke Singleton all added wins to their season as Dixie swept the singles competition of the match.
Lehman Catholic 5, St. Marys 0: Griffin West picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles, while the doubles team of Sam Ritze and Dany Lins did the same at first doubles. Sean Toner and Cole Kramer took a hard fought match at second doubles, winning the first set 7-6, dropping the second 3-6 and taking the tie breaker 10-6.
Miami Valley 4, Alter 1: The doubles duos of Makul Sharma and Reece Quigley (6-0, 6-0) and Amin Ahmed and Nathan Howell (6-0, 6-2) picked up wins as Miami Valley topped Alter. Aiden Faessler had the lone Alter win at third singles.
Northridge 5, Madison 0: Josh Brown, Vernon Woods and Harley Geisel all recorded 6-0, 6-0 wins in their singles matches as Northridge swept Madison.
Tecumseh 3, Northwestern 2: Tecumseh moved to 14-0 with the win as Mitchell Foland, Drew Sarihan and Jacob Lewis each won their singles matches. Cameron Sayeck and Nathan Wildofsky and Jaer Glass and Luke May both picked up doubles wins for Northwestern.
Talawanda 3, Preble Shawnee 2: Jarrett Clawson picked up the lone singles win for Talwanda while the doubles duos of Wally Kelly and Josh DeWitt and Ty Hornsby and Connor Schlade swept the doubles competition to give Talawanda the win. Pierce Elliott and Luke Feck collected singles wins for PS.
Boys Volleyball
Alter 3, Chaminade Julienne 0: Josh Kabel paved the way in the sweep, collecting 28 assists, eight digs and two aces. Andrew Rose came in a close second with 15 kills, seven digs, five aces and two blocks for Alter in the win. Dan Nye rounded out the series with 13 digs, eight kills and one block.
Edgewood 3, Wayne 0: Jacob Insprucker racked up seven kills for Edgewood in the win. Jeremiah Beeler tacked on five aces, while Griffin Smith chipped in four more kills.
