HS Roundup 2/22: Coppock paces Miamisburg in sectional opener

Anthony Coppock scored 20 points to lead Miamisburg in a 67-50 Division I boys sectional tournament win versus Belmont at Centerville on Friday.

Coppock chipped in eight of his 20 points in the final quarter to secure the win. Colin Murphy added 14 points and Alex Ball 13.

‘Burg advances to face Springboro on Thursday at Centerville.

Boys Basketball

SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT

Botkins 65, Newton 35: Jayden Priddy-Powell netted 19 points, Zane Paul added 18 and Botkins went on a 28-5 run in the final quarter to storm away. Mitchell Montgomery paced Newton with 11 points.

Madison 58, Houston 45: Grant Whisman and Jake Munafo scored 13 points apiece and Turner Campbell added 11 for Madison. Brennan Arnold paced Houston with 20 points.

Mississinawa Valley 38, Lehman Catholic 31: Josh Fett chipped in 13 points for Mississinawa Valley. Luke Frantz led Lehman Catholic with 16 points and Brandon O’Leary added 12.

Trotwood 101, Graham 51: Carl Blanton and Sammy Anderson led the way with 19 points each and Keontae Huguely and Carter Mims added 12 apiece for Trotwood.

West Liberty-Salem 61, Bethel 47: Holden Nease and Jack Eggleston totaled 15 points apiece to pace WLS. Matthew Loffing added 12 and Eli McGill 10.

REGULAR SEASON

Delphos SJ’s 49, St. Henry 37: Brady Parish and Aiden Rode combined for 31 points to lead DSJ. Ben Evers finished with 12 points for St. Henry.

Marion Local 41, New Knoxville 29: Carson Bierlein put up 19 points in a losing effort for New Knoxville.

New Bremen 47, Coldwater 45: Nolan Bornhorst tallied 13 points to lead New Bremen. Noah Miller led Coldwater with 17 points.

Parkway 40, Minster 39: Dylan Hughes had 14 points for Parkway and Caleb Kinney added 11. Trent Roetgerman paced Minster with 13 points.
