Division I
Loveland 3, Beavercreek 2: Defending Division I state champion Beavercreek’s unprecedented two-season run came to a close in a regional semifinal at Monroe on Tuesday night.
Loveland (16-3-0), out of the Eastern Cincinnati Conference, mounted a 3-1 first-half advantage and won its 12th consecutive game following a 4-3 season start. Those were the only two goals the Tigers have allowed in four postseason games.
Beavercreek (19-1-0) won a state-record 43 consecutive matches over the last two seasons. That included a 24-0-0 record in 2018 when Beavercreek defeated Strongsville 4-2 in the D-I state championship. Beavercreek hadn’t lost since falling to Mason in a 2017 D-I district final.
Loveland will play Lakota West (19-0-2) in a D-I regional final on Saturday, with the winner advancing to a D-I state semifinal next week. West advanced with a 5-2 defeat of Cincinnati Seton.
Lakota West 5, Seton 2: Kaitlynn Dudukovich knocked in two goals and Tori Kelley, Sydney Jones and Jessica Jackson added one apiece to lead Lakota West in this regional semifinal.
Division II
Alter 3, Oakwood 0: Anna Sweeney, Grace Vollmar and Lauren Schimpf each scored a goal and keeper Kassidy Roshong nailed down the shutout for Alter, which moves on to a regional final vs. unbeaten Monroe on Saturday.
Monroe 3, Tippecanoe 2, OT: Jade Gallagher netted the game-winner for the Hornets with 9:58 to play in overtime in a D-II regional semi at Lebanon.
Tipp girls soccer (11-5-4) was part of an outstanding run of fall sports seasons by the Red Devils. The Tipp boys soccer team was scheduled to play in a D-II regional semi on Wednesday. The Tipp girls volleyball team will play in a D-II regional semifinal on Thursday. The boys and girls cross country teams both qualified for this week’s state meets.
Division III
Cin. Country Day 6, Lehman Catholic 1: The defending D-III state champs raced to a 5-0 lead to win a D-III regional semi at Centerville. Country Day (17-0-2) will play Cincinnati Mariemont (11-3-6) in a D-III regional final on Saturday. CCD also knocked out Lehman (15-2-2) in a regional final last season. It was the final game for Lehman coach Jeremy Lorenzo after six seasons.
