It took all seven innings, but Carroll found a way.

Carroll defeated Fairmont on a walk-off hit from Trent Randall, scoring Jacob Maurer to secure the 3-2 win. Randall also had the start for Carroll, throwing five shutout innings, striking out three and allowing just two hits.

After Fairmont snuck in an unearned run in the sixth after an error and a single to take a 1-0 lead, Carroll tied it in the bottom of that inning with singles by Johnny Adkins and Martin O’Grady.

Fairmont grabbed the lead right back in the top of the seventh, however, forcing a late rally from Carroll. Steven Chapman kept the game alive with a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh and scored after a double from Maurer. With Maurer on second, Randall drove him in for the win.
