HS Roundup 3/6: Several area boys hoops squads capture district titles

Boys Basketball

DISTRICT FINALS

Alter 77, Wyoming 66: Jack Smith totaled 20 points, Jacob Conner and Conor Stolly added 17 apiece and Brady Uhl 13 to lead Alter to a district title. Evan Prater, Ohio’s Mr. Football and a University of Cincinnati signee, poured in 32 points for Wyoming.

Cin. Christian 58, Emmanuel Christian 41: Kai Vance scored 17 points and Cameron Rogers tacked on 15 to pace Cin. Christian. Fred Shropshire led Emmanuel Christian with 14 points. Emmanuel Christian finished 22-3, the best record in program history.

Fort Loramie 59, New Miami 37: Caeleb Meyer chipped in 17 points, Nate Meyer added 14 and Fort Loramie held New Miami’s high flying offense in check to move on to a fourth consecutive regional tournament appearance. Jordan Robinette paced New Miami with 13 points and Deanza Duncan added 12.

Jackson Center 33, Cedarville 30: Aidan Reichert tallied 17 points to help Jackson Center advance to the regional tournament. Colby Cross paced Cedarville with 17 points.

Parkway 41, Marion Local 31: Caleb Kinney recorded 10 of his 17 points in the final quarter and Parkway took home the first district title in program history. Caden Slusher and Dylan Hughes added 10 points apiece.

Thurgood Marshall 68, Hughes 65: Mekhi Elmore scored 27 points, including a clutch three-point basket in the final minute to help Thurgood seal the win. Chanze Amerson tacked on 20 points.

Trotwood 74, Purcell Marian 63: Carl Blanton poured in 29 points and defending state champion Trotwood stormed back in the second half after trailing 40-23 at the break.
