Three days after losing 75-49 at home to No. 6 South Carolina, Dayton improved to 3-1 thanks in part to the first big scoring night of the season for senior Jayla Scaife, who scored 24 points after scoring a total of 23 points in the first three games.

Scaife made 7 of 15 shots from the field and 8 of 10 free throws. She also led the team with 10 rebounds.

Erin Whalen (16 points) and Jenna Giacone (11 points) also reached double figures and helped Dayton’s bench outscore Northeastern’s 27-8.
