The winner of the Dayton Regional will stay at UD Arena for the quarterfinals and will play another regional winner at 7 p.m. July 31. The winner of that game will advance to the semifinals, which along with the championship game will be played at Drexel University’s Daskalakis Athletic Center in Philadelphia.
The tournament is a $1 million winner-takes-all event featuring teams of former college stars and many current pros from overseas.
Sibert ranked third on the team in scoring last year with 11.2 points per game. He led the team in 3-pointers made (12 of 32, 32.4%).
Sibert twice made the game-winning shot during the Elam Ending last year, first in a 75-70 victory against CitiTeam in the first round and again in the second round in a 62-56 victory against the Golden Eagles.
Two years ago, Sibert scored 17 points in the first round in an 88-44 victory against BC Vahakni City. He had five points in the second round in a 76-69 loss to Category 5. Both games took place at Ohio State’s Covelli Center in Columbus.
Sibert is now playing with PAOK in Thessaloniki, Greece. He played with the same team in the 2016-17 season. In between, he played in Germany and in the NBA G League. He reached the NBA in 2019 with the Atlanta Hawks and appeared in one game.
