Salyer, who runs for the Dayton Track Club, won the Glass City Marathon in Toledo last month and the USAF Marathon in September.
Cincinnati native Caitlin Keen won the women’s marathon in 2:45.34 to become the first three-time champion on the women’s side.
In December, he ran a time of 2:17.14 in the California International Marathon to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Trials in February, 2024, in Orlando. The 2024 Summer Olympic Games are in Paris.
“It’s unheard of to come back (after Glass City) and try another competitive marathon, let alone win it,” said Salyer, 32.
Will Cadwell and Jack Randall — who won in 2017 and 2018 — finished second and third, respectively, in the men’s race.
Keen first won in 2018, and then won again in 2021. In 2022, she ran the Paycor Half Marathon, which she also won. “I may be the first to win it three times but I will not be the last,” Keen said. “I want little girls to see this and know they can do anything they want.”
Seth Elking, a 2022 Miamisburg grad, won the men’s half-marathon in 1:10:56. Elking runs for the University of Cincinnati track and field and cross country teams.
Aimee Piercy, 25, won the women’s half-marathon.
