HALFTIME RECAP
Toppin dunked five times and scored 14 points to lead the Dayton Flyers to a 49-29 halftime lead against Detroit Mercy on Tuesday at UD Arena.
Toppin made 7 of 8 shots from the field. Dayton made 20 of 28 shots (71 percent).
All eight of Dayton’s scholarship players scored. Crutcher scored eight points and had five assists. Mikesell scored eight.
Davis had seven. Cunningham scored six. Frankie Policelli scored his first career points on a dunk. Dwayne Cohill and Trey Landers had two points.
