Dayton Flyers forward Obi Toppin won the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week award for the fourth time Monday. He has won the award more than any player this season and could become the first UD player to win the A-10 Rookie/Freshman of the Year award.

Toppin scored a career-high 25 points in a 75-64 victory Tuesday against Saint Joseph's and then topped that with 26 points Saturday in a 68-64 victory against Duquesne.

Toppin has increased his points total in seven straight games and ranks second on the team with 13.5 points per game.

"I think it’s just experience,” said Dayton coach Anthony Grant of Toppin’s more consistent play. “The more you play, the more you learn, the more you grow. He’s a guy that loves the game. He’s a guy that plays with a lot of emotion and energy, and he’s really talented.”

Davidson guard Kellan Grady beat out Toppin for the A-10 Player of the Week award, scoring 29 points on 10-of-17 shooting in a victory at Saint Bonaventure.
