Towson University transfer Allen Betrand listed the Dayton Flyers among the six schools he is considering.

A 6-foot-5 sophomore guard from Philadelphia, Betrand announced Saturday on Twitter he will choose between Dayton, Rhode Island, Richmond, Butler, Minnesota and DePaul.

Betrand averaged 13.6 points and 2.7 rebounds last season. He shot 38.7 percent (46 of 119) from 3-point range. He entered the transfer portal April 27. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Dayton has reached out to a number of transfers this spring. One of the latest names to emerge is North Carolina transfer Jeremiah Francis. He has heard from Dayton, BYU, New Mexico, New Mexico State, UTEP, Ohio U, Utah State, TCU and Oregon State, according to Jake Weingarten, of Stockrisers.com.

Francis, a 6-0 guard from Pickerington Central, Ibi Watson’s high school, averaged 3.3 points in 16 games last season as a freshman.

Dayton also has contacted USC transfer Elijah Weaver, according to a report by Josh Gershon, of 247Sports.com. A 6-6 sophomore guard from Cocoa, Fla., Weaver averaged 6.6 points in 30 games last season.

Dayton has three scholarships open for the 2020-21 season. That's assuming Chase Johnson doesn't return to the program — he medically withdrew from school in January — and also that Jalen Crutcher and Ibi Watson, who have both entered their name in the draft, do return for their final seasons.
