The Dayton Flyers swept the Pioneer Football League’s offensive and defensive players of the week awards Sunday.

Senior quarterback Jack Cook won the offensive award after throwing three touchdown passes and running for three scores in a 63-43 victory Saturday against Presbyterian College at Welcome Stadium.

Cook completed 19-of-35 passes for 262 yards and rushed 10 times for 74 yards. He moved into third place in Dayton history in total offense (6,614 yards). He trails Kevin Hoyng (9,528) and Will Bardo (8,560).

Chris Pepe, a freshman defensive end, won the defensive award. He recorded seven tackles, including 2½ sacks. He also forced a fumble and knocked down a pass.

Dayton (2-1, 1-0) plays at Morehead State (1-2, 0-0) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
