Two former Flyers land new jobs as graduate assistants

Two former Dayton Flyers walk-ons have landed new coaching jobs in college basketball.

Jack Westerfield, a 2019 University of Dayton graduate, will start his career as a graduate assistant with the Indiana Hoosiers. He’ll be working for his former coach Archie Miller, who’s entering his third season in Bloomington, Ind.

Westerfield, a 6-foot-1 guard from Cincinnati St. Xavier, appeared in 23 games for the Flyers from 2015-19. He scored 16 points in 75 minutes.

Westerfield's former teammate, Jeremiah Bonsu, a 2017 UD graduate who played on Miller's final team, will be a graduate assistant for the second time. He worked at Bowling Green in the 2017-18 season and became a player development intern with the Dallas Mavericks last season.

Now Bonsu, a 5-11 guard from Pickerington North High School, is a grad assistant at Arkansas, working for first-year coach Eric Musselman, who was the head coach at Nevada the last four seasons.
