Vegas oddsmakers have same view of Ohio State, Michigan

When they aren't trolling each other over Nike apparel and defacing innocent buses, Ohio State and Michigan play football.

According to at least one Las Vegas sportsbook, the programs are viewed as equally likely to win the national championship this fall.

Bovada released updated odds Wednesday showing the Buckeyes and Wolverines both at 9/1.

That represents a slight decline for both from odds released in mid-Febrary. At that time, Ohio State was at 6/1 with Michigan at 15/2.

The favorite is still defending national champion Alabama at 6/1. Next in line is LSU, which saw a big jump from 14/1 to 7/1. Clemson, the team Alabama beat in the national title game in January, slipped slightly to 17/2 after being at 15/2 in February.

The next-best national championship odds for a Big Ten team belong to Michigan State at 50/1 while Iowa is at 66/1.

Ohio State began practice this week needing to replace eight starters on each side of the ball.
