Just under four months remain until the start of the 2018-19 college basketball season. Teams can begin play Nov. 6. That’s a Tuesday. Past seasons began Fridays.

A new NCAA rule pushed up the start date, and Dayton Athletic Director Neil Sullivan said in April UD would probably take advantage of the early start date.

While fans may not get to see the Flyers before then — the renovation of UD Arena could mean there won’t be a Red and Blue Game for the second straight year — UD provided the first extended glimpse of the team in action at practice this summer with a video posted to Facebook on Tuesday.

Dayton can work up to eight hours per week during the summer, but only four of those hours can be used on basketball-related activities, meaning the other four hours can be used on strength and conditioning.
