Former Dayton forward Keith Waleskowski talked about jumping off the Black Rock cliffs in 2003 in Maui, but there was no social media then and no video.

Everyone can see three current members of the Dayton Flyers — Obi Toppin, Ryan Mikesell and Ibi Watson — following in Waleskowski’s footsteps on the same cliffs. The official Dayton basketball Twitter account shared video of the three taking the plunge in Maui on Saturday, two days before the start of the Maui Invitational.

Ryan Mikesell went first and was followed by Watson and Chatman. UD had cameras on top of the cliffs and in the ocean.

“We took on Black Rock, and we won,” said Watson as he swam back to the beach.

Michigan State also shared video of players jumping off the same cliffs.

The Black Rock cliffs are located on Kaanapali Beach, not far from the Sheraton Maui Resort and Spa, where the team is staying.
