“He stepped up big,” Wayne coach Nathan Martindale said in a video posted by the Wayne basketball Twitter account. “With 4½ seconds left, dribbled down the floor, knew how much time was left, got to two feet and went up and hit a 3. The rest is history. We got the win. I was just proud of our guys for finding a way to win through some adversity on the road.”
Wayne (4-0) improved to 3-0 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference. Rice, who committed to Murray State in September, is averaging 31.8 points.
