Week 1 roundup: Wayne, Centerville, Springboro, Tipp score season-opening wins

Wayne opened the season with a 31-13 road win at Fairfield on Friday night.

Isaiah Thompson led the Wayne attack with 177 rushing yards on 20 carries with two touchdowns.

Teaunn Hunter tacked on 181 yards on the ground with one TD. He also tossed a TD pass to Jamier Averette-Brown.

Javion Lewis led the defense with eight tackles, including two for loss and one sack.

Mason Gatto returned a fumble 99 yards for a touchdown and Dominic Back had a TD pass for Fairfield.

Centerville 31, Lakota East 21: Shane Cole threw three touchdown passes and Parker Johnson ran for a TD to lead the Elks. Jacob Taylor, Quincy Capogna and Ryan Swanson each hauled in a score from Cole.

Springboro 31, Little Miami 0: Max Miller tossed two first-half touchdowns and Mattias Brunicardi rumbled for a pair of TDs to lead ‘Boro. Miller connected with Brayden Wilhite and Jaxon Long on scores.

Fairborn 33, Tecumseh 0: Wesley Rohler threw a touchdown and ran for another for the Skyhawks. Cameron Faircloth, Zyaire Cavitte and Aiden Davis each added a rushing TD apiece.

Tippecanoe 28, Bellbrook 7: Larkin Thomas threw two touchdowns and ran for another to lead ‘Tipp. Dylan Herndon added a scoop and score on a fumble recovery.

Xenia 26, Beavercreek 7: Gavin McManus led Xenia with a passing and a rushing touchdown. The win was the fourth in a row for Xenia in the Backyard Battle.

Butler 49, Northmont 20: Mason Reckner threw for three touchdowns and Tayven Crump highlighted the night with a 90-yard kickoff return for a score for Butler.

Lebanon 28, New Albany 21: Luke Faler finished 15-of-17 for 198 yards with three touchdowns to go with a rushing score for Lebanon. Alex Klein hauled in two TD passes.

Preble Shawnee 52, Middletown Madison 0: Lane Lovely took the first play from scrimmage 45 yards for a touchdown and Preble Shawnee never looked back.

Bellefontaine 48, Sidney 21: Ohio State quarterback commit Tavien St. Clair threw for 275 yards with four touchdowns for Bellefontaine.

St. Marys 33, St. Henry 14: Dominik Osborne ran for 193 yards with three touchdowns for St. Marys.

Marion Local 45, Linton Stockton (IN) 6: Marion Local pushed its consecutive game winning streak to 49 and will try for 50 next Friday at Franklin.

Coldwater 38, Valley View 0: Baylen Blockberger finished 10-of-12 for 163 yards with four touchdowns to power Coldwater. It marked the 168th win for head coach Chip Otten, tying John Reed for the most in Coldwater history.

Anna 37, Indian Lake 0: Zach Osborne rushed for 131 yards with two touchdowns to go with 2 TD catches for Anna.
