Week 2 Roundup: Stebbins, Sidney combine for 122 points, 983 yards; Beavercreek, Fairmont, Xenia notch wins

In a game with 122 combined points and 983 yards of offense Sidney defeated host Stebbins 67-55 on Friday night.

Sidney built a 53-27 lead at the half before holding off a Stebbins rally in the second half.

Quarterback Ethan New led the way for Sidney, passing for 299 yards with four touchdowns to go with 110 rushing yards and three scores.

Tank Fleming and Joelon Lyons each caught a pair of TDs from New. Isaiah Foster had two rushing scores.

For Stebbins, Andre McConnell ran for five touchdowns and Devin McCormick passed for 238 yards with two TDs.

Sidney totaled 562 yards, Sidney 421.

Both teams are 1-1.

Beavercreek 41, Ponitz 0: Dana Johnson-Dennis and Zane Piatt had two touchdown runs apiece for the Beavers. Calvin Svoboda added a TD throw to Laken Pierce and Ben Watson had a rushing score.

Fairmont 27, Trotwood 18: Fairmont built a 27-6 hafltime lead then held off the Rams. Max Gehring booted a 50-yard field goal for the Firebirds (2-0).

Lakota West 31, Hamilton 0: Sam Wiles tallied 135 passing yards with two touchdowns along with a pair of rushing scores to lead Lakota West. Kenyon Norman and Braydon Johnson each hauled in a TD pass.

Lakota East 20, Mason 13: Chauncey Peck rumbled for two touchdowns, including a 98-yard score, and Jamison Kitna threw a touchdown to pace Lakota East.

Xenia 66, West Carrollton 0: Gavin McManus threw for 156 yards with three touchdowns, Deaunte White tallied 111 yards on the ground with three TDs and Trimonde Henry had a punt return for a score for Xenia.

Butler 17, Piqua 7: Tayven Crump returned an interception for a touchdown, Jace Love tacked on a rushing score and the Butler defense pitched a shutout in the second half to hold on for the win.

Alter 13, Withrow 12: Withrow took the lead with under seven minutes to play but Alter answered with the game-winning touchdown drive capped off by a Drew Cripps TD run. Noah Jones had a rushing score for Alter in the first half.

Lebanon 19, Loveland 10: Luke Faler passed for a touchdown and ran for another to lead Lebanon. Logan Lane added a pair of field goals.

Eaton 42, Richmond (Ind.) 6: Aaron Rogers dished out touchdown throws to Gavin Winings and Brycen Simpson along with a pair of TD scrambles to lead Eaton.

Wyoming 23, Monroe 6: Karson Marcum hit Brayden Miltenberger on a 66-yard touchdown for the lone score for Monroe.

Northwestern 35, Greenon 0: Ried Smith threw three touchdowns, two to Mason McDermott, and ran in another score to lead Northwestern.

Mechanicsburg 34, Graham 7: Quarterbacks Conley Bogard and Connor Eyink combined to go 21-of-28 for 337 yards with two touchdowns. Ronnie Thomas, Colton Walborn and Denver Caudill each tacked on a rushing TD.

National Trail 26, Tri-County North 12: Zack Creager ran for 163 yards with two touchdowns and Cooper Smith and Talon Bousman tacked on a rushing TD apiece to lead National Trail in a Thursday game.

Marion Local 49, Franklin 0: Marion Local recorded its 50th consecutive win, the longest active streak in the country.

Coldwater 31, Clinton-Massie 15: Coach Chip Otten tallied his 169th victory, passing John Reed for the most wins in Coldwater history.
