It was the first A-10 game for both teams. Dayton’s opener at Rhode Island on Saturday was postponed because of COVID-19 issues with the Rams, while St. Bonaventure’s game at St. Joseph’s on Saturday was postponed.
This was only the second A-10 women’s game played this season. Six were postponed Saturday. One was postponed Tuesday. Two of the four scheduled for Wednesday were postponed.
Dayton won its fourth straight game. The Flyers made a season-best 13 of 23 3-pointers. It was the third-most 3-pointers the program has made in a game in its history.
Erin Whalen made 7 of 10 3-pointers and scored 27 points. Makira Cook and Capria Brown each scored 12 points. Jenna Giacone had 11.
Dayton had a 47-23 rebounding advantage. Eleven players had at least two rebounds. Araion Bradshaw led the team with six assists.
Dayton held St. Bonaventure to 28 percent shooting, their worst number of the season. The team shoots 37.9 percent from the field.
Dayton will stay at home for its second A-10 game. It plays George Washington at 2 p.m. Saturday.
