Here are the most successful high school sports programs in Dayton area history

The Alter girls basketball team and the Graham wrestling team were among those from the Dayton area that added Ohio state championships this school year with titles in recent weeks.

They’re also the most frequent title-winners in the area.

Nine schools in the region have won at least 10 state championships in Ohio High School Athletic Association-sanctioned tournaments, including to OHSAA data.

Adreian Payne, of Jefferson, has just cut a part of the basketball net and wrapped it around his neck all while holding the championship trophy. Dayton Jefferson played and defeated Newark Catholic, in the Division IV state championship basketball game, by the score of 59 to 52. Payne scored 11 points and collected 9 rebounds.
